Schemes run by the Social Welfare Department includes scholarship scheme for Scheduled Castes / Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes, schemes related to the education work by the voluntary organizations who live under the general category of poverty line and financial assistance given to them, scheme related to the maintenance of the State Upgradation Settlements, schemes related to the implementation of the Scheduled Tribes Prevention Act-1989, Operation of Ashram Vidyalayas and Hostels, scheme for granting marriage / sickness grant to Scheduled Castes. In addition to this, under the Special Component Plan, the scheme of self employment scheme, sanitary mart scheme, shop construction scheme, skill enhancement training scheme and free boring scheme is being run by Scheduled Caste Finance and Development Corporation.

A brief description of the schemes run by the Social Welfare Department

Marriage Grant Scheme Scheduled Caste / Normal Class-

  • Parents whose annual income in rural area is Rs. 46080 / – and urban area is Rs. 56460 / – annual income is eligible for the scheme.
  • The applicant should be the native of the district.
  • Age of marriage must be 21 years or more and bride should be 18 years of age or above.
  • Upon completion of eligibility conditions by the applicant, the website can apply online at http://shadianudan.upsdc.gov.in 90 days before and 90 days after the date of marriage.
  • There is a provision of granting Rs 20,000 / – for the marriage of the applicant’s daughter who lives below the poverty line.
  • 49.00 lakhs have been received for 245 beneficiaries for the marriage of the daughters of the Scheduled Castes.
  • A sum of Rs. 17.20 lakh has been received for 86 beneficiaries for the marriage of the daughters of general caste.
  • The applicant’s online application is available on the basis of availability of budget on the basis of the availability of the budget, through the Block Development Officer and in the urban area through the Deputy Collector, the funds are to be sent to the beneficiary’s account under the PFMS system. .

National Family Benefit Scheme-

  • The death of the head of the family who lives below the poverty line is between Rs. 30,000 / – to the dependents of the deceased between the ages of 18 to 59 years.
  • Applicants who have annual income in the rural area of Rs.46080 / – and urban area are Rs. 56460 / – are eligible for the scheme.
  • The applicant should be the native of the district.
  • The applicant can apply online at http://nfbs.upsdc.gov.in/ upon completion of eligibility conditions.
  • On the basis of the availability of the budget on the basis of the availability of the applicant, the application of the applicant’s online application is done by the Sub-Collector, the amount is to be sent to the beneficiary’s account under the PFMS system.
  • A sum of Rs. 59.70 lakh has been spent in 199 beneficiaries under the National Family Benefit Scheme.

Scheduled Castes Persecution Scheme-

  • There is a provision to provide relief to the persons belonging to Scheduled Castes to persons belonging to non-scheduled castes for abuse, molestation, kidnapping, rape and murder etc..
  • Proposals related to the victims of Scheduled Castes are to be dispatched to the Department of Social Welfare and after the approval of the Superintendent of Police.
  • According to the mandate of the victims, according to the various sections, 75 percent of the amount is given on the prescribed rates, and 100 percent assistance on murder.
  • If the cases of the victims are decided by the court, there is a provision to provide the remaining 25 percent assistance.
  • 113.00 lakhs of rupees have been spent in 104 beneficiaries under Scheduled Torture Harassment Scheme.

Old Age Pension Scheme-

  • The applicant who is living below the poverty line whose age is more than 60 years is Rs. 400 / – and 80 years is Rs. 500 / – per month.
  • Parents whose annual income in rural area is Rs. 46080 / – and urban area is Rs. 56460 / – annual income is eligible for the scheme.
  • The applicant should be the native of the district.
  • The applicant can apply online on the website http://sspy-up.gov.in upon completion of eligibility conditions.
  • The applicant’s online application is available on the basis of availability of budget on the basis of the availability of the budget, through the Block Development Officer and in the urban area through the Deputy Collector, the funds are to be sent to the beneficiary’s account under the PFMS system.
  • An expenditure of Rs. 1589.18 lakhs will be spent in 33108 beneficiaries under the Growth Pension Scheme.

Chief Minister’s Comprehensive Marriage Plan-

  • There is a provision to pay Rs. 20,000 / – for the marriage of daughters of Rs. 10,000 / – and Rs. 5,000 / – in total Rs. 35,000 / – for the marriage of daughters of all the parents whose annual income is upto 2.00 lakhs.
  • The applicant should be the native of the district.
  • Applicants of rural area applicants are required to submit application forms for the related development blocks and applicants of the urban areas in the Municipality / Nagar Panchayat.
  • Age of marriage must be 21 years or more and bride should be 18 years of age or above.
  • Out of the total beneficiaries of the 07 and backward classes of the Scheduled Castes, 27.94 lakh beneficiaries have been spent.
  • There is a provision for verification / acceptance of applications of applicants through the concerned Block Development Officer / Executive Officer and dispatch of funds to eligible applicants.

East Sadasham scholarship SC / ST category-

  • Rs. 2250 / – per student scholarship is payable for SC / ST students whose parents’ annual income is less than 2 lakhs.
  • Upon completion of the eligibility conditions, the student can apply online at http://scholarship.up.nic.in.
  • The application of the student / girl students application is done by the directorate of funds after getting the application form corrected under the PFMS system.

Post-graduate scholarship SC / ST category-

  • For the students of Scheduled Castes, the parents whose annual income is 2.50 lakh and for the general category students whose annual income is less than 2 lakh, scholarship is given at different rates.
  • On completion of the eligibility criteria, the student can apply online at http://sspy-up.gov.in.
  • The application of the student / girl students application is done by the directorate of funds after getting the application form corrected under the PFMS system.
