Chopareshwar Temple

There is a pond in the east side of Rath Nagar headquarter which is called Chopra. There is an ancient temple on its side in which the idol of Lord Shiva is situated. This temple is famous by the name of Chopareshwar. The temples of Markandeshwar Ramlala, Ganesh ji and Hanuman ji are situated in this complex. Due to the arrival of Khaki Baba, this place became a holy place during the Mahabharata period. The iconic Shivling here is similar to Mahakaleshwar of Ujjain, which was established by Uttara, the daughter of King Virat.
